Vision Quilt Banners Bring Peace
to Oakland's International Boulevard
Through our partnerships with community leaders, Vision Quilt installed 210 Banners for Peace along 1.6 miles of International Boulevard in East Oakland. These five-foot street pole banners feature Vision Quilt art created by youth, artists, gun violence survivors, and community members and will be exhibited until 2028.
Our video, Overwhelming the Streets with Peace exemplifies the Call to Action generated by city and community leaders at the onset of the banner installation. As part of the Peace in the Streets Neighborhood Beautification Project, the banners serve to uplift the voices of community members impacted by gun violence.
